About Me

Born in Birmingham, I’ve always thrived in a busy, fast-paced environment. My career began in financial services, working for Royal & Sun Alliance and Aviva, but I soon realised that something was missing—job satisfaction. So, embracing my carpe diem mindset, I took a bold step at 26 and went to university to train as a teacher.

I spent 10 years teaching English in an inner-city secondary school, a role I absolutely loved. There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing students grow in confidence—like the time I convinced a 14-year-old boy to play Juliet in our class chat show, despite the risk to his ‘street cred.’ He shone in the role and loved every second of it—a memory that still makes me smile today.

As the education system changed, so did my passion for it. When offered the Head of English position, I had a choice: settle for comfort or embrace the unknown. True to my nature, I chose the latter.

Not long after, I met my husband, Jamie, and soon found myself falling into the role of organising him—and, more officially, working behind the scenes at Chetwood Lloyd.

Today, I handle everything from submitting mortgage and insurance applications to liaising with lenders and solicitors, managing company accounts, and even government reporting. Oh, and keeping Jamie in check—arguably the toughest task of them all!

Outside of Work

I moved to North Wales in 2018, and it didn’t take long for me to feel at home. The stunning landscapes, fresh air, and slower pace of life made the transition seamless.

Jamie and I love immersing ourselves in nature—whether it's hiking, exploring forests, or even indulging in a bit of birdwatching. My love of food means I’m always cooking up something homemade—because, in my view, the best meals are the ones made from scratch.

I also enjoy running, walking, and the occasional bike ride along the quiet country lanes. And as a true bookworm, I always have a book (or two) on the go.

Life is all about balance, and for me, that means blending work, nature, and good food with a book in hand—seizing the day, one page at a time.
